Reasons to Tell Your Friends About Camps International
Sharing Responsibility
We encourage every child who attends camp to try to match your donation in some small aspect. In other words we add value to the camp experienced by setting bars that correspond to the social and economic underpinnings of the local culture. Even if some children can only prove there interest in camp by memorizing a Bible verse (actually very valuable) before they come, then, that is what is done. We teach leaders to never give away an event for “free” because it is far from that. Thank you for considering your side of the equation that balances the books so more children can come to camp and more leaders can learn from camp.
Elbow, Checks and The Extra Percentage
In the Mexican culture, touching your right hand open palm to you left elbow is a body gesture that indicates someone who you are talking about is very tight with their money. So let’s practice this. Look in the mirror and do the gesture. Good. Now to apply this here, you can leave this page and send Camps International a check to avoid the low percentage fee accesses on our non-profit organization taken out of your contribution by the high finance credit card and banking institutions. Have the check go to the address below. However if your generosity and lack of time outweigh your frugality, you could just add a little to make up for the money transfer stuff.
Who Pays the Piper
Administrative overhead is sometimes a consideration when evaluating where you invest your hard earned gift monies. Not only do we intentionally consider how to do more with less, we have a Board of Directors who financially contribute so that there are ZERO administration fees set to be taken away from your gift. It is not that we don’t have expenses like everyone else, it is just that we take responsibility for them so you don’t have to.
Camps International is a 501(c) 3 that starts camps and trains people to use them. Camp Duffel is a ministry program of Camps International.
